Abstract

The purpose of the work is to analyze the processes of formative research in the social sciences, in order
to explore the application of the Methodology of Prototypical Problems and Critical Incidents (MPPEIC) in
constitutional research, specifically, in the analysis of direct democracy established in the Political
Constitution of Mexico City (CPCDMX). The methodology used is qualitative in nature from the approach of
hybridity. To achieve this, the prototypical problem (PP) is constructed referring to the cancellation of the
potential of direct democracy, the critical incident (CI) consists of the limitation to democracy through
political violence exerted on citizens to prevent their participation in decisions. city policies and a
Cognitive Learning Organizer (OCA). The main finding refers to the fact that this methodology not only
allows strengthening the teaching-learning processes and the improvement of degree programs in the
constitutional area; but also strengthens research processes in the social sciences for the generation of
critical and authentic knowledge.
