In academic environments and professional development. Socio-emotional education has been placed as
the main articulating axis of personal and social growth, also, the fundamental basics for an inclusive
coexistence, well-being and emotional health. However, this area of knowledge has not yet generalized in
university curricula, particularly in teacher training programs, as is the case of Universidad Pedagógica
Nacional, Unidad 151 Toluca, México. At the conjuncture of the COVID-19 pandemic, the degree in
Educational Psychology of this University designed, applied and evaluated the results of an intervention
project, workshop modality, which provided theoretical-practical knowledge on emotional education to
students of this branch. of psychology, from September 2020 to January 2021. The objective of this
presentation is to propose a basic conceptual framework, describe the methodology that was
implemented to obtain the diagnosis on the informal knowledge that the psychology university student
had on the subject, the thematic composition of the workshop and account for the most outstanding
findings of said study. The premise of this intervention was that the proper management of emotions is an
innovative psycho-pedagogical element that every professional dedicated to teaching needs to know in
order to favor himself and his students, the acquisition of intrapersonal and interpersonal skills and
abilities to face challenges of everyday life.
