RETEE-DORA commitment

The Electronic Journal of Emerging Technologies in Education (RETEE) reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence and scientific integrity by adopting the principles of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA). This international declaration establishes guidelines that seek to transform the way scientific output is evaluated, moving away from simplistic quantitative metrics, such as impact factor, and prioritising intrinsic quality, methodological rigour and the social relevance of the knowledge generated.

In accordance with DORA, RETEE promotes editorial and peer review that focuses on the content of manuscripts, the originality of approaches, the validity of results, and the real contribution to the advancement of the educational and technological field. The journal recognises that the impact of research is not limited to bibliometric indicators, but must also consider its applicability, its capacity to generate significant changes in educational practice and its relevance in local and global contexts.

Likewise, the implementation of DORA in RETEE translates into transparent editorial policies, impartial peer review, and the promotion of open practices, such as free access to content and the promotion of research data available for verification and reuse. In this way, the journal contributes to the strengthening of a scientific culture based on ethics, collaboration, and the intrinsic value of academic contributions.

With this membership, RETEE positions itself as a publishing space that not only disseminates knowledge but also actively participates in the transformation of scientific evaluation systems, in line with the contemporary demands of the international research community.
