About the Journal

The Electronic Journal of Emerging Technologies in Education (RETEE) is an open-access, biannual journal administered by the Master's Programme in Educational Information Technology at UADS-UAZ.

The Electronic Journal of Emerging Technologies in Education (RETEE) is a multidisciplinary scientific publication with an emphasis on the intersection between education, technology, and innovation. Its main objective is to serve as a platform for disseminating original research, detailed case studies, experiences in educational innovation, and critical reviews of specialised literature. Although it maintains a broad focus, it privileges contributions that explore the connections between educational processes and technological development.

Its priority themes include educational technology and innovative teaching-learning models, including the use of ICT in education, STEAM approaches, gamification and mobile learning; digital education and learning spaces; the development and implementation of e-learning platforms and digital tools, with a special interest in free software applied to educational contexts; and technological innovation in education, such as artificial intelligence applications, educational robotics and the use of extended realities (augmented, virtual and immersive) in training processes.

RETEE also explores psychosocial dimensions related to technology, particularly the emotional impact of social media in educational settings and strategies for digital well-being. A prominent area is technology education for inclusion, which examines accessible technological developments and pedagogical innovations aimed at vulnerable populations.

This publication is aimed at a diverse academic community that includes researchers in education and social sciences, educational technology developers, professionals in pedagogical innovation, and postgraduate students. RETEE thus seeks to establish a dialogue between multiple disciplines, always with the common goal of understanding and improving educational processes through the critical and creative use of technology.

The journal is published twice a year (two issues per year) with continuous publication under the “online first” system, where articles are published individually as they are accepted. It employs a double-blind peer review process, which guarantees impartiality and rigour in the evaluation of manuscripts before their inclusion in the biannual issues (Submissions).

The publication is structured into the following sections:
