Política editorial
Following COPE guidelines, the journal publishes errata for minor amendments and retractions in cases of malpractice or fraudulent data. A public record is kept of all corrections and retractions.
Responsible journalism and disclosure
Responsible reporting of findings is encouraged, avoiding sensational or out-of-context conclusions. Press releases or media summaries should accurately reflect the results and limitations of the study.Editorial Policy of the Electronic Journal Emerging Technologies in Education (RETEE)
Scope and Scope
RETEE is a multidisciplinary scientific-academic journal focused on the intersection of education, technology and innovation. It disseminates original research, case studies, innovation experiences and critical literature reviews. Its priority areas include educational technology, digital learning environments, hybrid and emergent learning spaces, as well as psychosocial and inclusive approaches.
Open Access Principles
RETEE adopts the Budapest Declaration on Open Access (2018), promoting the removal of economic and legal barriers to reading and re-use of scholarly content. All articles are published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, allowing free copying, distribution, adaptation and commercial exploitation, provided that original authorship and source are acknowledged.
Research Assessment (DORA)
In adherence to the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), RETEE evaluates papers for their content and methodological rigour, not for simplistic bibliometric metrics (impact factor, h-index or others). Editorial decisions are based on the intrinsic quality of the studies, originality, theoretical and empirical soundness, and their contribution to the advancement of knowledge.
Editorial ethics and good practice (COPE)
RETEE follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure transparency, integrity and ethical conduct throughout the publication cycle. Authors must declare conflicts of interest, informed consent procedures and ethics committee approval, where applicable. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism and data manipulation are prohibited; detected violations lead to immediate rejection, notification of institutions and, if necessary, retraction.
Peer review process
A double-blind system is applied with at least two independent reviewers per manuscript. A standardised rubric is used to assess clarity, structure, methodological rigour, validity of results and theoretical/practical relevance. In case of conflicting opinions, a third reviewer issues a final verdict.
Transparency and reproducibility
The deposit of data, materials and protocols in open repositories is encouraged to facilitate reproducibility and external review. Manuscripts should include sufficient methodological and analytical details to allow for replication.
Copyright and self-archiving
Authors retain the proprietary rights to their work and grant RETEE a non-exclusive licence for publication and dissemination. Self-archiving of the final accepted version (post-print) in institutional repositories is permitted, always citing the version published in RETEE.
Digital archiving and preservation (LOCKSS/CLOCKSS)
To guarantee the long-term preservation of its content, RETEE participates in the distributed preservation systems LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS).
LOCKSS: An active node is maintained that stores periodic copies of all published articles, allowing the intact recovery of the collection in case of data loss.
CLOCKSS: RETEE deposits its content in the CLOCKSS network, ensuring a second preservation mechanism under editorial control.
Both initiatives ensure that the DOIs and metadata associated with each article remain accessible and validatable even if the main platform experiences outages or closure.
