Approach to ceramic archaeological material from the historic center of the city of Chihuahua

Abstract

This article deals with the study of the ceramic typology recovered from the adobes and the roof of a property with the number 120 of Coronado street in the historic center of the city of Chihuahua, establishes the temporal sequence of the foundation of this building in conjunction with the historical approach on the development and growth of the city in that sector. The conservation works carried out in this property allowed the recovery of 39 ceramic fragments that have provided information in relation to the history not only of the building but of the city of Chihuahua, it is worth mentioning that there is no study in the archaeological literature on the Colonial and historical ceramic typologies of the City of Chihuahua. Although the sample is not statistically representative, it can be indicative for future studies on historical ceramics.
