Revista Chicomoztoc, Vol. 6. No. 12, Julio - diciembre 2024
Vol. 6 No. 12 (2024)Societies have many faces, ways of existing and expressing themselves, which is why they cannot be studied from a single perspective. Anthropology, archaeology, biology, ecology, among other disciplines allow us to get to know different social groups that throughout history have created strategies to transcend, not only physically but culturally and spiritually. In this issue, the authors draw aspects of societies that have taken advantage of their environment to feed themselves, create tools, bond as groups and subsequently disengage through violent processes that allow us to build a new form of socialization. In relation to the above, four articles derived from the First Forensic Sciences Meeting that was held in November 2024 are shared as a dossier, where it sought to promote working links between the Search Commission of San Luís Potosí, the University of Guadalajara and the Autonomous University of San Luís Potosí.

Revista Chicomoztoc. Vol. 6, No. 11, January - June 2024
Vol. 6 No. 11 (2024)In this issue we invite our readers to take a walk through the world of things. As on other occasions, we are brought together by love for the material sparkle left by societies.
In this way, our journey shows us landscapes such as: the past and stories revealed through bones with the work of physical and forensic anthropologies; the imaginary and the symbolic reflected in the representations of petroglyphs, codices and publications, including communications that are seen through official documents in institutions that regulate the order and harmony of a group, and other testimonial texts.
All these studies tell us about social movements that are registered voluntarily and involuntarily. They reveal the beliefs that are deep-rooted but that are also transforming like the syncretism of the New Spain era; the contexts that surround the archaeological remains such as the rock graphics and the efforts for their social valuation; the various uses made of the fauna of a landscape; the recovery of individual and collective identity and dignity from the rescue of bodies; the relationships between groups and the recognition of a territory through the similarities expressed that reconstruct a style and tradition; finally, opinions on childcare or parenting and their correlation with books.
We hope you enjoy the analysis of these vestiges and that they contribute to your own research and thereby create a feedback loop of infinite reading.

Revista Chicomoztoc Vol. 5, no.10, julio – diciembre 2023
Vol. 5 No. 10 (2023)In the present issue of the Chicomoztoc Magazine, a varied journey is made through thesociety and culture. An analysis, from different methodological perspectives and disciplinary: On the one hand, the historiography and the analysis of sources that allow us to contextualize the rebellious resistance of a people in the Sierra Gorda, and make a critical reflection on the theoretical work of the teacher Eulalia Guzmán, one of the first archaeologists in our country. We have a view of the study of conduct and social behavior through acts that leave contemplative traces, such as private collections, an act "so natural" that gave rise to typological investigations. And what to say about the analysis of the graphic - cave manifestations that from the landscape vision allows us to locate ourselves in a time and space. To complete this thematic tour, we have the studies of ways of life, one that is reflected in the way in which the field and daily subsistence activities are organized, another in the traditional manufacture of tejamanil in the Purépecha town of Angahuan. This is how they are once again offered a complete panorama of what society and culture represent, with multiple lenses, tools and methods of study. We wait may it be an enriching read as it has been for us in compiling and editing this copy.

Vol. 4 No. 8 (2022)The health security situation facing the country and the world derived from a pandemic has limited not only physical contact but also mobility to carry out field work and the execution of outreach projects, therefore a fundamental requirement to carry out Work from the Social Sciences is the design of emerging methodologies that guarantee the recording of the stages that society faces in the current life situations, without losing empathy and sensitivity to recognize the needs of each group without overlapping ours as researchers. Revista Chicomoztoc Vol. 4, no.7, Enero – junio 2022
Vol. 4 No. 7 (2022)Archaeological research is enriched by multiple analytical theoretical perspectives, which focus on highlighting some aspect of the history of man, his relationships with his environment, his particular features, his passions and sufferings. The material records related to man can be seen through microscopes or in large construction complexes, however, the most enriching aspect of archeology are the explanatory and interpretative proposals that each researcher builds, a view of the entire world.

Revista Chicomoztoc, Vol. 3. No. 6. Julio – diciembre 2021
Vol. 3 No. 6 (2021)Human societies face constant transformations, some of which arise from external causes and others from internal ones, regardless of their origin. What is relevant is trying to recognize the strategies that were used in different phases of history to adapt to the environment and optimize the available resources to the maximum. The efficiency of the strategy allows an activity to transcend, be repeated, and be passed on for generations. The knowledge that derives from the constant practice of an activity is a heritage that allows strengthening cultural ties and building regional identities. However, given the changes that are taking place in today's society related to a pandemic that has reduced a large number of older adults, direct heirs of knowledge, and the already marked generational gap, it is very important to resume the ethnoarchaeological record as a fundamental activity in order to rescue the traditional knowledge of our ancestors, of those peoples who promoted a sustainable relationship with their environment and who are now at risk of being forgotten. Archeology constantly uses ethnographic references to make analogies and build proposals of what could have happened in the past, now it is important to consider ethnography to resignify activities, technologies, knowledge and learn to apply the uses and ways of life that our ancestors were allowed to do. live properly. Guarantee future generations a decent present.
