Abstract
The objective of this study is to investigate the conception and understanding of a group of third-grade secondary school students regarding historical events and the main processes in the history of Mexico and the word in order to explain changes, permanence, and simultaneity. To this end, a questionnaire was administered that addresses previous knowledge about the subject through the location of time, space, and subject. This allowed us to identify the problems that prevent students from contextualizing events in history. The results show some gaps in learning that mark the curricula, in addition to the delays and deficiencies in the content, confirming the lack of location of space, time and characters of the different historical events that students develop in the History subject.
