Abstract
Humanity is experiencing a time of accelerated changes and exciting discoveries in all disciplinary areas, which have become dizzying since the second half of the 20th century, with Set Theory and the application of military engineering that, little by little, is integrated into civil life. None of that happened just by chance; Knowledge and information networks, for example, did not appear suddenly nor were they invented by a single person; They are a consequence of intensive processes of development of science and technology, in particular, during the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st. As the knowledge society expands in these times of globalization, science and technology transform human communication, the market changes social and political institutions, and international economic and financial structures alter the social relations of countries and the fabric culture of nations. This occurs, paradoxically, at the same time that the world is subjected to the destruction – without mercy – of the environment and biodiversity. If this continues, the path towards its extinction has been undertaken, at a time when science is developing like never before and technology is changing life on the planet.
