The article addresses the relationship between the Theory of Platonic Forms and the genesis of conceptual thought. It affirms the dependence of the concept regarding to the image, although its birth arises precisely in opposition to the concept. Greek philosophy would then imply a transition from magical to rational thought indicated by a different way of establishing the relationship between signs and referents by the intermediation of grammar and logic.
