Abstract

This research presents an approach not only of the devotional sense of the sacred art images, but also of the technology of the time, specifically of the constructive and descriptive systems of the sculptural images, in such a way that this series of articles are aimed to constitute a monographic publication that gathers the eight altarpieces of this Temple. The objective is to contribute to the historiography of art in Mexico and specifically, to expand the dedication of the archangels in the state of Zacatecas. It continues with the descriptions of the splendorous golden altarpieces of the Temple of the Tabernacle located in the capital city of Zacatecas, with emphasis on the Altarpiece of the Virgin of the Light and the seven angelic princes.
