Societies have many faces, ways of existing and expressing themselves, which is why they cannot be studied from a single perspective. Anthropology, archaeology, biology, ecology, among other disciplines allow us to get to know different social groups that throughout history have created strategies to transcend, not only physically but culturally and spiritually. In this issue, the authors draw aspects of societies that have taken advantage of their environment to feed themselves, create tools, bond as groups and subsequently disengage through violent processes that allow us to build a new form of socialization. In relation to the above, four articles derived from the First Forensic Sciences Meeting that was held in November 2024 are shared as a dossier, where it sought to promote working links between the Search Commission of San Luís Potosí, the University of Guadalajara and the Autonomous University of San Luís Potosí.
