The present paper studies important concepts and theories to understand the present. We consider the concepts of arielismo, subalterns, multiculturalism, critical pedagogy, Latin America as key elements to think society and education. The intention is to elucidate elements for an ongoing discussion, these are introductory notes to a fundamental issue that concerns us today: how to foster an intercultural dialogue from critical pedagogy and critical thinking in Latin America? The present work pays some elements of discussion.
