Abstract

Theft is a crime that poses both a national and local challenge, being considered a "high-impact" crime, requires serious analysis for its management, both in terms of the legal framework, which should include the appropriate methods of prosecution in line with the severity of the issue and in prevention within public security programs, an important part of a state's criminal politics. The high incidence of theft indicates that its trend has never shown a decrease nor maintained a consistent rate of increase in Mexico. The purpose of this participation is contribute to the proper handling of this crime for the society benefit.
