Summary: State, Political Processes, Popular Movements and Transition to Neoliberalism in Latin America is a book by Nydia María Castillo Pérez. It explains with great lucidity how and why changes the course of the history of a country that opt for the peaceful way towards socialism and another that of the revolution, after overthrowing a fierce dictatorship and how both processes, socialist one and revolutionary the other, try to change their societies and make them more just, free and sovereign. However, in the end, both states are defeated and end up adopting neoliberal policies. Interesting and original, it is of pleasant reading and it is directed, especially, to all those who are interested in Latin America and its future.
