The objective of this research was to analyze the socioeducational effects of parental migration in the children who remain and who are students of the Telesecundaria School of Río Florido, Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico, who share the experience of parental migration. It is a qualitative case study, with techniques such as non-participant observation and semi-structured interview. From the results obtained it can be concluded that with the migration of the father, in the community there is an increase of extended homes, where the grandparents live with the migrant's family, which sometimes results in intergenerational conflicts, especially when it comes to impose norms of coexistence to grandchildren; emotional affectation, along with neglect of school activities of the children of migrants, although also the desire of some of them to study, but without ruling out the possibility of migrating in the near future.
