Sigifredo Esquivel's book Creation, Criticism and Subjectivity is from the title a call to re-unite these spheres that have been separated in the modern world. The state of vital disconnection in which we find ourselves (as Antonin Artaud lapidary wrote: "in this world that falls, that commits suicide without knowing it") depends on such separation, as different thinkers (poets and philosophers) have already observed. We could also say that Esquivel's book serves as a reminder that the history of the West is, in many respects, the odyssey of subjectivity, that is, of a constant construction and deconstruction of the content of the human.
