This essay deals with the written public retraction of Don Guillén Lombardo to reduce its punishment before an Inquisition´s judgment and a contemporary reading about its content in relation to the ideas of the text closer to ours. Such retraction is known as the Christian Relief. This text suggests an idea of Neoplatonic and Hermetic thought, the same that would bring the arrival of Modernity in Europe, to say: that man is not born free, but must, through knowledge, overcome "the influences and inclinations of the stars" to conquer their freedom.
