Objective: To identify the main factors that influence the attitude towards organ donation in adults aged 50 to 60 years
in Zacatecas. Method: A descriptive analytical cross-sectional cohort study was carried out. The population was made
up of 155,000 adults between the ages of 50 and 60 who live in Zacatecas, 383 participants made up the sample selected
with a snowball sampling. A questionnaire was prepared with two surveys by different authors, from the Tamaulipas
state transplant center (2015) and the one carried out by Melisa Sánchez (2015). Results: Regarding the attitude of the
people, regarding the question of whether they would donate their organs while they were alive, it was obtained that only
43.3% would do so, while 40% had doubts and only 16.7% would not, being the. The main cause is the fear that
something will happen to them, while when evaluating how informed the population is, it was found that 73.3% believe
that little information exists on the subject of organ donation and transplants in Zacatecas, 33.3% % of the surveyed
population has little information regarding organ donation. Conclusion: Factors such as lack of information and religious
beliefs do not affect the attitude towards organ donation in adults aged 50 to 60 years, this reflects that the information
available based on organ donation will not influence in decision making for donation.
