Abstract

 

The purpose of this essay is to show some common practices present in traditional and domestic medicine which are still in force in the localities of the Lerma Bajío region. Widely used alternatives such as herbalism to which both men and women have resorted in the last two years of the Coronavirus pandemic. Using this long-term knowledge involves combining different therapies to deal with the symptoms caused by SARS CoV-2. In a tour of the towns of the region we have been able to verify the enormous difficulties by which the different health systems have been overwhelmed. The population for its part, knowledgeable about plants, home remedies among other resilience, have taken the initiative to support to their relatives or sick neighbors, setting in motion a complex network of knowledge ranging from the use of herbalism to family accompaniment.

    Licenciada en Historia por la Universidad Michoacana, Mtra. En Historia y Dra. en Estudios Interdisciplinarios por la Facultad de Filosofía de la Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro por la misma universidad. Se ha dedicado a estudiar los procesos de patrimonialización y marcas colectivas artesanales en la región Purhépecha.
