Tzunun is an archaeological community in Laguna Mensabak, located in the Lacandon Jungle. Archaeological excavations have made it possible to recover remains of animals such as turtles. Through taxonomic analysis and identification of the distribution of this resource, it is possible to delve into the social organization among the Mayans of the Lacandon jungle during the post-classic period.
