Interculturality as a pedagogical approach in the teaching of history, becomes an object of study when it comes to making inferences about the universe and the population where its implementation is projected. Under this perspective, the present work offers a conceptual base constructed from diverse theoretical and methodological positions on interculturality as a way to combat asymmetries that are expressed in society and education. Thus, through an epistemological reflection, we intend to arrive at certain results that allow us to prove or refute the intercultural orientation specifically implemented in the institutional programs for the history subject at the basic level of Mexican education. If we consider that intercultural education is a way to articulate diversity, do the contents instituted to teach history in the classrooms guarantee intercultural dialogue? Here is the importance of discussing feasible concretions that address the need for an inclusive and humanistic school through the intercultural pedagogical approach in the teaching of history and its textbooks, which implies the urgency of addressing why and what to discuss topics related to its implementation.
