Abstract
Educational quality is fundamental for the holistic development of students and the enhancement of education systems. Implementing peer mentoring programmes is an effective strategy to address issues of lagging and failure. Grounded in educational theories such as Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development and Ausubel's Significant Learning, peer mentoring allows advanced students to guide their peers, fostering a collaborative and mutually supportive environment. Personalisation of learning, tailored to individual needs, is key to academic success and personal development. Education policy should focus on strengthening teacher training, modernising infrastructure, promoting collaboration among various stakeholders, and continuously evaluating outcomes to ensure quality education. The qualitative approach using interpretive and ethnographic methods has enabled us to identify the needs of students, supporting the relevance of peer mentoring as an effective intervention.
