Fernando Martínez Heredia and Five Theoretical Problems to Investigate the Cuban Revolution

In March 2018, the alternative socialist website “La Tizza” published How to Investigate the Cuban Revolution? a revealing text for researchers of the Cuban Revolution. A conference was held in June 2016 by Fernando Martínez Heredia. A lecture for the Group of Studies on the Cuban Revolution, of the "Antonio Gramsci" Chair of the Cuban Institute for Cultural Research "Juan Marinello". The Cuban philosopher pointed out five frequent problems to investigate the Cuban Revolution: 1.-Confuse support for the Revolution with Defensism. 2- Concealment or not access to many relevant information. 3-Existence of common places, falsehoods and circumstantial issues. 4- Differences between specialized studies, testimonies and teaching of the Cuban Revolution. 5.- How to manage your own passions and the search for knowledge. Due to its importance and methodological value, the mentioned text deserves an extensive and critical analysis. The investigative novelty is to approach from the reflective and integrating angle to articulate, polemicize and analyze the reality of the investigations around the Cuban Revolution. The topicality and importance of the subject in the midst of economic, political and cultural challenges, the article serves to understand the difficulties, strengths and possibilities that it means to build Socialism in Cuba. The objective of this paper is to assess the problems of research on the Cuban Revolution.
