Abstract

The second volume of the book México a través de los siglos (1884-1889), entitled "El Virreinato", and written by Vicente Riva Palacio, describes some aspects of daily life in Nueva España, that are of interest to scholars of the customs of that time. However, given his liberal nationalist affiliation, he presents a biased vision of historical facts, since he considers the Spanish influence negative.
