In this paper I discuss two naturalistic principles that have been taking place in philosophical debates in the metaphysics of the mind, the causal closure principle and the causal exclusion principle. I discuss some of the consequences followed by these two principles considering some problems, namely, the problem of consciousness, volition and the problem concerned with the content of our beliefs. My conclusion supports these two principles, although I suggest modifications to these once we see how they work in joint company against the three problems mentioned.
