Los Afro-Central American studies as a vital space for academic materialization and tangible demand

Abstract

The article corresponds to the Keynote Lecture addressed the 20th November, 2019, in Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras, framed by the Third Afro Central American Studies Sessions. In this Sessions, the author, based on her personal life experience, and leaning upon a historical perspective and theorization, gives a brief overview of what has been the development of these studies, prioritizing the contributions from the Afro Central Americans, and especially from Afrodescendant women.
