Prevalencia de ansiedad, estrés, depresión e insomnio durante la pandemia COVID-19 en estudiantes universitarios de Zacatecas

Abstract

Objective and method of study. To know the prevalence of anxiety, depression, stress and insomnia disorders in university students in the state of Zacatecas due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Method. The type of study carried out was descriptive, crosssectional and comparative. the sample consisted of a total of 381 participants, who were selected by quota sampling. A personal data card and three instruments were used, the first to measure mental health focused on anxiety and depression, the Goldberg test, the second the Athens or Athens scale (EAI) was designed to record their on perception of mental health. difficulty in people sleeping, the third EPP-10 scale (perceived stress scale) measures emotional stress. The data was captured and processed in the statistical program SPSS version 26. Results. The students had an average age of 21 years, 44.7% were men and 55.3% women. They presented in anxiety and depression a 78.9% where they have felt low energy, following with difficulties to concentrate with a 76.3%. When evaluating insomnia, it was found that the quality of sleep was mostly slightly dissatisfied with 68.4%. Regarding the determination of stress mostly within the characteristics, not being able to face all the things that had to be done was 50% with respect to the other variables. Conclusions. It is concluded that women are at greater risk of acquiring disorders during the COVID-19 pandemic, of which they sometimes find themselves vulnerable. It is recommended to implement programs in academic units to reduce risk factors and empatice prevention and timely diagnosis.
