InIntroduction: The female role is usually stereotyped, however, over time, women have progressively acquired greater empowerment and prominence in society, which has allowed the performance of various roles at the same time: student, worker, mother and spouse. Objective: To reveal the perception of women in the face of multiplicity of roles and their social impact at present. Methodology: Qualitative, phenomenological and hermeneutical study, with a population of 19 students in the nursing program at a higher education institution.. Semistructured interviews were applied on sociodemographic aspects and experiences of the students in their roles. Results: The experience of women in their various roles is considered to be difficult, complex and physically demanding; they attribute the meaning of responsibility, commitment, sacrifice; feelings of pain, sadness, frustration prevailed; the feeling they experience the most is satisfaction and empowerment; they perceive their time very scarce. Conclusion: The experiences of women in the exercise of roles, turn out to be complex, loaded with mixed feelings and effects historically marked by gender, however, the satisfaction it generates in their personal growth prevails. However, in the imaginary of women the social repercussion that this generates lies in the neglect of the upbringing of their children.
