Abstract
The purpose of this research was to present what students attending the Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Guerrero, Campus 11, in Tixtla de Guerrero, know and master in the digital field. To obtain the information, Moctezuma (2023) applied a survey among students. He took a sample of 147 people, broken down as follows: 60 from first grade, 43 from second grade, and 44 from third grade. What was analyzed was the phenomenon that many students present when using educational technologies implemented in universities, which generates constant anxiety. The present study adopted, at the methodological level, a mixed approach, employing a non-experimental research design with a descriptive objective. The quantitative analysis of the survey reveals that students generally possess intermediate skills related to managing email and social media platforms. However, their proficiency in using Microsoft Excel shows a considerably lower level, suggesting the need to strengthen training in this tool. The data therefore lead us to conclude that the sample surveyed exhibits sufficient digital competence to essentially meet the demands of contemporary higher education. However, the research reveals specific dimensions that still require improvement, which recommends the implementation of additional training strategies.
